NLR Expertise

NLR started R&D about structural integration of antennas in 1998. NLR was involved in computation and measurement of classical antennas installed on a scaled model of a Fokker 100 aircraft. Among NLR developments :

  • Dual-frequency band antennas which were integrated in a CFRP composite hood-like structure
  • Prototype planar phased array antennas for broadband Ku-band satellite communication for satellite TV reception and Internet on board aircraft
  • Electronically steerable antenna arrays to be integrated into light weight structures of air vehicles, which are subject to aero-mechanical vibrations.
