The Horizon2020 ACASIAS project has taken up the challenge to develop more sustainable aircraft.
The ACASIAS consortium with NLR as coordinator, has now developed four innovative aircraft structures with multifunctional capabilities. These structures improve the aerodynamic performance, reduce weight of aircraft and facilitate the introduction of fuel-efficient engines such as Counter-Rotating Open Rotors.
